Inspired by the legendary imaginary explorer Montgolfier, the Globetrotter collection celebrates a journey through nature, world cultures, and the spirit of discovery. Designed by Marcel Wanders for Roche Bobois, the collection brings together furniture and home textiles that blend refined craftsmanship with an eclectic, storytelling-driven aesthetic.
For this project I worked as the surface pattern designer, collaborating closely with the product design team to shape the collection’s visual identity. My contribution is the Arras, a ten-meter-long illustrated textile narrative that forms the conceptual and aesthetic backbone of the project. Tracing an imaginative journey through London, Paris and Istanbul, the Arras’ motifs and layered scenes establish the tone, colour world and graphic language that unify the collection.
This narrative textile inspired some of the key pieces, such as the Montgolfier sofa and the Wonder cabinet and helps shape the poetic, exploratory spirit at the core of the Globetrotter collection.
